If your experiment code already handles all conditions internally, you may not need separate group assignment.

A within-subject study may still need to assign presentation order to different participant groups, and a between-subject study's
experiment code may already assign conditions on its own. This selection never automatically forces the group construction below.
Do participants need to be recruited into and assigned to different experimental groups?
Example: a study that runs both congruent and incongruent trials within a single HTML file may not need separate group assignment.
If different participants must receive different experiments (e.g. Group A 50 / Group B 50), you can construct groups below.
Group composition
Set a name and a target completion count for each group. You can add as many groups as you need. The sum of each group's
target count must always match the total spots set in the Basics step. Who qualifies for each group (sample criteria) and the
actual assignment method / experiment code connection are configured in the following steps.

Per-group additional criteria
Add recruitment criteria specific to each group, layered on top of the common criteria above. Fields left blank keep the common value.
Example: common criteria 20–35 years old, Group A adds Korean native speakers only, Group B adds English native speakers only.
Pre-screening Optional
Additional eligibility questions the participant answers immediately when applying. There is no invitation message — anyone can answer them on the application screen, and if the answers don't meet the qualifying condition, the application is blocked.
Pre-screening questions
Applicants answer these immediately when they click the apply button. Add checkbox/radio questions and mark which options qualify. If there are no questions, applicants can apply directly without pre-screening.
Recruitment groups (optional)
Classify participants by the pre-screening answers above so you can track recruitment progress (applied/eligible/confirmed/valid completions) separately per group.
This is a different concept from treatment groups (A/B assignment), and group names/membership are never shown to participants.
A participant can belong to more than one recruitment group at the same time.
Per-group additional pre-screening
In addition to the common questions above, you can ask extra questions specific to each group. A participant's answers
determine which group's eligibility they satisfy — the question screen never shows which group a question is for.

Participant assignment method
Once a participant applies and is confirmed eligible, they are assigned to a group using the method below. If you set per-group
additional criteria or pre-screening, random assignment only considers participants who satisfy that group's conditions.
Per-group experiment code connection
Connect a different experiment code to each group, or share the code connected in the Basics step while only passing
assignment information.
External-link and in-person studies only support per-group recruitment count management — Conveloq cannot control which
condition a participant actually performs, unlike an internal HTML experiment. Researchers must verify actual performance themselves.
QC criteria & sampling
Set participant quality criteria and the recruitment method.

Participants meeting this threshold are recruited with priority. Not applied to those with fewer than 5 submissions.
